“The man you knew, the story you didn’t.”
UPDATE, May 14, 2025: The first full trailer for James Gunn’s new Superman movie has landed. Check it out here.
January 10, 2025: This looks incredible. I wish my dad could’ve been around to see this. He loved that first Superman movie so much.
Super/Man: The Christopher Reeve Story chronicles the man’s life and legacy, from unknown actor to a global icon as Superman.
Reeve’s portrayal of the superhero set a standard for the genre, but his career took a tragic turn in 1995 when a horse-riding accident left him paralyzed. Despite this, Reeve became a tireless advocate for spinal cord injury research and disability rights, continuing his work in cinema while remaining dedicated to his family.
Directed by Ian Bonhôte and Peter Ettedgui (McQueen), Super/Man is loaded with home videos, archival material, and the first in-depth interviews with Reeve’s children.
I’m super excited for James Gunn’s new Superman film, but I’m probably even more excited for this.
I love this comment from user @xxAutoglocktaviusxx on the Youtube page: “I remember getting drunk, having a good cry, and blasting the Superman theme from my balcony the day Christopher Reeve passed away. It felt like I lost a friend.”
Another user posted a real heart squeezer of a timeline for the deaths of people involved with the movie and/or Reeve as a friend.
