Well, I don’t know if this sneaky video will stay up, but here’s an official preview clip of Marvel’s upcoming Fantastic Four flick.
The big news this weekend, at the San Diego Comic Con, is that Robert Downey Jr is back to play… not Iron Man, but rather Dr Doom.
It’s been suggested that he’ll be a multiverse variant of Tony Stark, but apparently the writers have confirmed he’s definitely Victor von Doom. Righteo!
Oh, and it seems his first appearance will be in Avengers: Doomsday in 2026 — not in Fantastic Four.
As for the video above, it seems clear the story will be set in the ’50s, at least initially. Perhaps they’ll be cast forward in time at some point, to join the wider existing MCU? 🤔
Actually, I’ve just had a quick look at official statements and it seems the whole story will be separate to the MCU as we know it. But surely at some point they’ll join the MCU? We’ll see…
Here’s your FF cast
- Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards, aka Mister Fantastic
- Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm, aka the Invisible Woman
- Eben Moss-Bacharach as Ben Grimm, aka The Thing
- Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm, aka the Human Torch

And, of course, RDJ as Doom.

This’ll be, what, the second attempt in recent history at a Fantastic Four movie?
Those previous efforts weren’t by Marvel, but we can’t exactly say Marvel’s still a guaranteed success factory either…
We’ll also see Ralph Ineson as Galactus and Julia Garner as Shalla-Bal aka Silver Surfer, along with Natasha Lyonne and John Malkovich in undisclosed roles.
