Goldfinger’s been given creative control of the 007 franchise – and that’s got folks shaken.

Welp, it’s official: James Bond’s next chapter will be written by Amazon MGM. (If you missed it, Amazon bought the struggling MGM in 2022 for $8.5b USD.)
The unloved warehouser of misery has secured full creative control of the franchise in a new deal with producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson, who hold overall control of the franchise on behalf of creator Ian Fleming’s estate, and also own a portion of the IP themselves.
This move marks a significant shift, especially given Broccoli’s past wariness of Amazon’s data-driven approach to filmmaking. (Respect!) Broccoli and Wilson are now stepping back to pursue other projects, and Bezos has quickly moved in to get things rolling, asking who should be the next Bond.

The news has been met with all the disappoint you’d expect, given the general distaste for Amazon as a business and employer.
At the same time, I’m struggling to withhold my interest in the notion of an Avengers-like superspy team with the likes of Bond, Jack Ryan, Reacher… maybe a reactivated Mr & Mrs Smith and Patriot… (both great shows rudely cancelled).
Incidentally, there’s a Jack Ryan movie in production. That’d be a great opportunity for Bezofinger to step out from the shadows, post-credits, to invite Jack to the Superspy Initiative… 😂
"This End Is No Beginning" could be quite an appropriate Bond title in view of this final sell-out.

And since I have cut my Amazon purchasing very drastically, maybe Jeff thinks he needs a new income stream….

Could be harmless. I mean, it's not like Bezos taking control of Washington Post… which I was a subscriber of.for many years before last year….

Now we’re going to get the other extreme and have too much Bond, too quickly

Now with commercial breaks!

👇 Gotta admit, I don’t even hate these two ideas…
Make way for loads of Bond 'content', a prequel series, animated series, Bond in Fortnite, a spin-off Q series. Every few months there will be more content to consume and instantly forget about…

Get ready for a prequel TV series about how M was a badass SAS Agent in his younger years!
