NEW, September 2024: Bluey is now the most watched show in America! Details here.
Story continues:
In some extremely cool news, Australia’s own Bluey – which I reviewed last year before 2020 became a hellscape for everyone – has been given a slot in Rolling Stone’s Top 100 Sitcoms of All Time list.
Granted, the show ‘only’ just scraped in at 96, but when you consider there have been probably thousands of sitcoms produced over the decades… anywhere in the Top 100 is just an incredible result.
I said in February last year that Bluey has played a special role in my parenting life. More than any other TV series, Bluey is deeply relatable for me on both a parenting and Aussie level, but it’s also heartwarming and genuinely funny.

Even if you’re an adult without kids (hey, thanks for being here on a #dadblog), you should throw Bluey on and kick back for a bit. It’s mega wholesome, and the stories are accessible even if your only experience with kids is having once been a child yourself.
For me, the only ‘downside’ to this show is that Bandit is, well, an impossibly good and patient dad. He doesn’t nail it all the time – that’d just be too unbelievable – but far out, he’s the best there is. It’s inspiration stuff, but I also spend a lot of time thinking “oh come on, how have you not sent them off for screentime yet!” 🤣
What are your fave sitcoms on the list?
