I don’t need a new camera I don’t need a new camera I don’t need a new camera…

It’s true, I don’t. Between my Ricoh GRIIIx, my Sony A7RC and my Sony ZV-E10 for that “definitely soon” vloggin’ career, I’m very well set.
But, just as every photography dork umms-and-ahhs over stylish little models like the Fujifilm X100VI and the various stupidly expensive Leicas (yes mate, I know, they’re worth it, I know), the OM-3 looks like a super compelling little kit.
As Emily of Micro Four Nerds puts it below (Betteridge-qualifying thumbnail title aside), this thing appears to get very little wrong. It’s undeniably more capable than my Ricoh, but it’s also a lot bigger – which is saying a lot about how tiny the GRIII cameras are!

And, at micro4/3, it also has a smaller sensor than the X100VI’s APSC unit (20mp v 40mp). Of course, unless you need the crop freedom you get from a bigger sensor, 20mp is still plenty. (Says the guy with a 61mp A7RC…)
Unlike the X100VI, the OM-3 is very nicely weather-sealed, and the interchangeable lens system will be a selling point for some, too.
Still, is it priced right, at £1699 / $2100USD / $3200AUD for the body only? The X100VI is less at £1800 / $2200USD / $2800AUD, and of course it has a lens built-in.
Hmm!
