Fujifilm Instax Wide Evo revealed. Yes please. Yessss

I want it. Instax Mini Evo who? Never heard of him. Bring me the Wide Evo.

A few years ago, I gifted my son an Instax Mini Evo, an absolutely lovely and fun and capable camera that has gone wildly underappreciated by its owner.

Well, I kid, mostly. He does use it and enjoy it, but mostly only when I suggest he take it out with him or that he go on a photo walk with me. The ADHD life means that he often simply forgets that he owns a camera!

So, I probably use it more than he does. It’s such a cool little gadget to take to gatherings, pass it around and get folks to take photos, print them out as keepsakes, and so on. (Mind you, the photo sheets ain’t cheap!)

But now there’s this: the Fujifilm Instax Wide Evo, revealed this week.

It doesn’t go on sale until early February, but a few youtubers have had their hands on it, and I’m extremely thirstin’ for it.

Over the Mini Evo, the Wide Evo boasts maaaaany more megapixels (16 vs 5), bigger photo prints (of course), a bigger rear display, more fun new filters and tricks, and USB-C! Although the Mini Evo has transitioned from micro USB to USB-C with the advent of the brown model, but alas ours is the earlier black.

Available from February 4, the Instax Wide Evo will be priced from $350 USD in the US and $599 AUD in Australia.
