Outstanding comedy from Bluesky user David Marshall. 😂

You've just been thrown to your death by the Beatles.

Pete Best was, of course, The Beatles’ first drummer, from 1960 to 1962.
Best was booted from The Beatles in 1962 for simply not being good enough – a tale told in detail on beatlesbible.com (originally published in People magazine.) This 2018 interview with him is a real cracker, too.
What’s the story with the photo, really?
In February 1963, photographer Angus McBean, who had previously worked with George Martin, photographed The Beatles at EMI House in Manchester Square, London.
During the first session, McBean photographed the group at the first-floor railing. One of these images became the cover of their debut album Please Please Me. (“With Love Me Do and 12 other songs”!)
McBean returned in 1969 for the Get Back project. Although these photographs were not used immediately, they later appeared on the absolutely brilliant The Beatles 1967-1970 compilation.

I’d love to know who created this merged version, below. Brilliant work!
