Zach Maclachlan, aka Mac Glocky, has been blowing up in one corner of the socials for his ripping covers of songs in the style of other bands.
I’ve been following Mac Glocky for only a few months, but I struggle to watch just one of his reels without gobbling down a few more.
His thing is pairing two styles or artists that have no business being in the same room, and making it work. The cool thing about it for me is that they’re not just covers – they’re a reimagining of one artist in the style of another.
Think Britney Spears as if Metallica wrote it to their own themes, or Slipknot doing a Taylor Swift song in their own style.
Of course, what makes Mac Glocky stand out is how well he nails the vibe of each artist. He doesn’t just slap on a filter and rake in the views – he goes deep, capturing all the little traits that make some bands so iconic.
The attention to detail is next-level, but he keeps it a bit cheeky – it’s like he’s in on the joke, and that makes it even better.
Check out Mac Glocky on Insta and Youtube. (PS… his Deftones clips are some of my faves.)
