Soren Iverson has made his mark online by mocking up fake new features for popular apps that are sometimes of the very unlikely “yes please!” variety, but usually they’re squarely in the “don’t give them ideas” space.

I’ve been following Soren’s work on social media for a few years, and he rarely misses. His entire model is to post screengrabs of well-known apps, with a pretend new feature he’s added.
Sometimes they’re hilariously horrifying – like an iOS feature requiring you to complete a word search before you can snooze your alarm, or group chats that you can’t leave or mute – while others, like the option to send a cease-and-desist to somebody who posts too many Instagram stories or the ability to accurately know if a Marketplace seller is desperate enough to accept a low-ball offer, live in a universe too good to be true.
And those examples are just from the past two weeks’ worth of ideas!
Soren runs his own product design agency, so he knows what he’s doing, and he’s even turned his fake feature mockups into a whole-ass book called Can You Imagine? Sorry, make that two books. Two volumes of ideas! (Alas, shipping is only available for the US.)
